Report 2451-A [Handler Redwilte]
Something’s off. We normally get a good number of new Exodian personnel from time to time, but recently, it’s been essentially a surge of newcomers. Much higher numbers than normal, too. Many of the seniors have never seen an influx as great as this. So many new faces in so little time. Some have just taken to solo missions or hanging out in their Personal Quarters and ships to avoid being overwhelmed, while others were celebrating.
For the most part, the other relative newcomers don’t seem to mind the influx so much, but the older ones are concerned. The Observers might’ve seen or known something to demand this much manpower.
People like Solium have been great at handling them. Last I heard, he’s taken a bunch of them on a little retrieval mission, something he was more than suited to tackle on his own.
It’s mostly normal here, but this turn of events is just making me and some of my friends stop and think.
Mission Report V-1395 [Solium]
First time taking some of the youngsters out for a surprisingly difficult mission, and I’ve somehow managed to flunk it right when I should be paying more attention. Maybe I was keeping an eye on them instead of the mission, but…
They’ve handled it pretty great. They weren’t even supposed to fight that thing. That should’ve been my business, but they did it. Against all odds, they went through the most difficult part and managed it. All alive, too. Not in great shape, but alive. For their first-ever mission.
Can’t ignore potential when it’s staring you right at the face like that, you gotta admit. At the same time, I feel like I’ve gotten somewhat rusty. Then again, some of us seniors have been starting to feel the load, and there’s been an influx of missions, so I guess the additional manpower is really needed, as much as I’ve had my initial doubts at first.
I don’t know what the big guys are thinking, but, I guess the others are right. Something’s stirring in the horizon.
...I don’t think I’m looking forward to it.
